Introducing Terrain: a distilled collection of undyed, flat-woven Moroccan rugs that pay homage to the unadorned beauty of wool and landscape, and present the first collaboration between FRAMA and Beni.

Rooted in honesty and observation, Terrain is a limited series of rugs inspired by the serene simplicity of nature. Designed by nature over all else, this distilled collection pays homage to the unadorned beauty of Moroccan wool in its most sincere state. Underpinned by a like-minded philosophical approach that honors connection and presence, the collaborative collection is born from the meditative examination of the natural world—and bringing its most essential elements indoors.

"To slow down long enough to acknowledge the pre-existing beauty in every loop of wool is a way to attune your senses to the pace of nature."

– Tiberio Lobo-Navia, Beni co-founder

A cultural point of reference within the collaboration can be found in the work of German photographer and sculptor Karl Blossfeldt. Blossfeldt dedicated his life’s work to the considered observation of nature—the exact opposite of embellishment, his work amplifies the existing beauty of the simple wonder that is already right in front of us.

“Nature educates us into beauty and inwardness and is a source of the most noble pleasure”

– Karl Blossfeldt

Offering a relaxed texture, as well as a sturdiness and strength, Terrain emphasizes a humble, honest construction in timeless neutral shades of the earth. Available in three organic variations — Soil, Sand, and Salt — each quiet tone draws its pure pigment directly from the High Atlas Mountain sheep that was sheared to achieve it. The collection’s neutral shades offer a grounding companion to materials that might fill an interior: natural colors that will reflect the metals, woods, or textiles that furnish a given space. An attempt at doing as little as possible to what is already presented to us in nature.

The lightest hue in the Terrain series, Salt is a meditative reflection of nature’s inexplicable ability to calm the senses and restore balance—adaptable and serene in tone. Sand, for its part, is a timeless reminder of nature’s infinite cycle of beauty. Every rug first begins as a single loop of wool, and Sand expands this essential understanding of the material. The darkest hue in the series, Soil represents the grounding composition of nature and how it adapts to life over time.

A long-awaited addition to the material tapestry of FRAMA collections — this collaboration introduces a new foundational interior element. The collaboration draws on Beni's expertise in rug-making and FRAMA's inclination towards honest, untouched materiality to bring some of nature’s most awe-inspiring simplicity into the home.
